Astrid Lindgren: One of the most translated authors in the world

“But Nightshirts aren't dangerous," Pippi assured her.
"They don't bite anybody except in self defense.”
- Pippi Longstocking by Astrid Lindgren

When living in Sweden, it is natural to grow up with Astrid Lindgren's books. But so is in the rest of the world, as Astrid Lindgren is as of May 2013, the world's 18th most translated author! She was born in 1907 in Småland, Sweden and she is best known for children's book series, the most famous featuring Pippi Longstocking (Pippi Långstrump). She has sold around 150 million books worldwide! That's quite a number of books! You must certainly have at least a couple in your rum, just turn the pages and travel with Pippi back in time..
